Welcome!

One of the greatest joys of working in a bookstore is simply being surrounded by books. Books are beautiful. They feel good in your hands. Books open doors to other worlds. This is not a virtual, but an actual experience, and at Gallery Bookshop & Bookwinkle's we are privileged to be able to enjoy it every day. In person or on the web, it is a great pleasure to share our discoveries with other readers. Here is a current selection of Staff Favorites written by every person on staff at our store. Each of us has compiled a list of our favorite books, some oldies, some hot off the press, and you may find our recommendations right here by clicking on our names in the left-hand panel.

We are especially proud of our collection of local books. The Mendocino coast is extremely well-documented by the many authors who live here.
