Mendocino String Quartet
The Mendocino String Quartet was founded in 1979 by four friends who love chamber music and play it at every opportunity.

Over the years we have performed for numerous weddings and other special events. We are a featured group every fall for Winesong at the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens. The Quartet has performed in the Opus and Fort Bragg Center for the Arts chamber music showcases.

We enjoy tailoring our work to suit you. Our repertoire ranges from the joyful classic pieces of Mozart and Haydn to the more "serious" works of Brahms, Beethoven and Dvorak. We also play show tunes, religious works, and popular arrangements.

We'd Love to Play for You!

We work with you to enhance the mood of your special event.

A typical wedding performance:

One half-hour in advance the Quartet plays background music while guests arrive. At the appearance of the bride we strike up a lively processional piece such as the first movement of Bach's Third Brandenburg Concerto. At the conclusion of the ceremony we play a recessional to celebrate the newlyweds. We may suggest the Allegro Maestoso from Handel's Water Music Suite or the Wedding March from Mendelssohn's incidental music for A Midsummer Night's Dream.

As guests gather for refreshments and photos we continue to play light classical music, along with tangos and perhaps a waltz as a background addition to the happy mood of the celebrants. Call (707) 961-0230

Six weeks advance notice is preferred. A deposit is required. For a full wedding as described here we typically ask $150 per musician.
